Reminds me of a city in Florida where I previously lived. The city bought 100% of its power from various suppliers as it had no generation capacity of its own. One Saturday about 2 PM, all the power in the city went dark. Pooft! No power.
ReplyDeleteCome to find out the city manager had forgotten the contract for power was due to expire and didn't bother setting up another vendor before power was over and out.
As I recall, we didn't get the power back for about 6 or 7 hours since this happened on a Saturday. Another fine example of your bureaucraps at work!
Reminded of a line from a song - 'her ad lib lines were well rehearsed'. You wonder if this accident was well planned out in advance.
ReplyDeleteI read the article and the "arm firm load" and "firm load interrupttion" orders are confusing. Why don't they just say Get ready to shed load and then say Start shedding load now. Much less confusing.
