ReplyDeleteAfter he was termed out of the CA legislature (four years in the assembly, eight in the state senate) he was elected to the L.A. city council. He now earns $100,000 more a year ($218,000) than he did under the Golden Dome.

ReplyDeleteNational City. Boy, does that place bring back memories. As a wee young lad I delivered lumber to National City that I had hauled from the beautiful rural hinterlands of Northern California.
DeleteI shall now have to reconsider my ranking of Stockton as the #1 Armpit of the West. National City was almost as stark and every bit as weird as Stockton 45 years ago.
