New York's food crisis is getting worse, group says

NEW YORK - The number of people in New York who need food is growing, according to the Food Bank for New York City, which distributed more than 121 million meals in 2021 and is on track for even more this year.

"It is the worst that we have ever seen it," Food Bank's Janis Robinson, the vice president for institutions and partnerships, told FOX 5 NY. "That is the largest number that we have ever experienced and the number has only grown from there."

  4. this is going to get a lot worse. I figure people will start stealing food from people outside of stores by next spring. I mean there some now. but by next year it will be really bad.
kind of like getting gas in a big demorat shithole of a city now.
I still know friends who live near by cities where they have a weapon in their hand while getting gas.

    1. Hey, New Yawk! You're either a "sanctuary city" or you're not.

      Which is it?

  7. I know several people who use our local food bank who are not poor. They are in fact far from poor, they are just cheap a**holes.

Why am I thinking that NYC is full of them?

    1. Ever notice the cars that are lined up for food give-aways? Most of them are nicer and newer than what I own.

It's a phenomenon not specific to any particular demographic, either. It's a pervasive attitude, "Why should I use my hard-earned cash for something I can get free from Uncle Sugar?"

To which I would reply "Perhaps it's a matter of pride and self-respect, of which you obviously have none".
