#5 Once down in Key West, while I was in the Navy, a buddy and were fishing. I had caught an approximately 8 foot long nurse shark. While I was fighting it, something hit it and cut it completely in half. I don't go into salt water above my ankles. Everything in water eats other things in the water.
Starker here, #10 reminds me of MythButhters (sic), shooting a shotgun into a tall narrow tank. They were surprised when the tank blew out. I wasn't. Their lack of science always concerned me.
Free diving may be a new sport, but spear fishermen have been free diving for decades. I always wanted to do that, but we never lived near water clear enough. JFM

ReplyDelete#6 - My birds do the same thing when we get one of those Alberta Clippers coming through.

#7 - never too young to learn about the shifting sand as the tide pulls back out to ocean. She didn't appear to be hurt by that - a teaching point..
ReplyDeleteThe sand was solid. The water moving backwards visually fakes out your sense of balance and you instinctively lean back, that's what happened to her.
Delete#6 Duck that, not for me either. This is my first year owning ducks 🦆. We will see how winter goes in TN.

ReplyDelete#1- nice save. #3- fragile, handle with care
Delete#6 explains why the expression goes "Like a duck to water" and not "Like a duck to snow".
ReplyDeleteNo.5: the diver has no scuba tanks and I can’t see a hookah line either, so how is he respirating?
ReplyDeleteHe's not. Its call 'free diving'. One of the latest 'adventure sports.' Participants frequently black out on surfacing.
