A typical and sad story from Florida. After opening the article, which is in a newspaper for The Villages, there are other stories in there of just people doing stupid, criminal stuff. As the Jane Goodall meme goes, "fascinating behavior". I am sure all parts of the country have issues similar, but I will tell you... Florida seems anecdotally to concentrate the bizarre, the drunk, the indolent and the insane. I still love Florida, though. These are the best beaches I have seen in the world... check out the Gulf Coast in Escambia County, over into Alabama. They call it the "Redneck Riviera", but that sand is gorgeous. Simple as. Beats any day in New York, tbqh.
One of the reasons there are so many “Florida Man” stories is that Florida has “sunshine laws,” meaning, every government record is open to the public, from e-mails between government officials to arrest records. In a lot of other states, this information is restricted. Plus, we attract a lot of freaks.
Gotta love The Villages!
