ST. CLOUD, Fla. - A St. Cloud High School student was arrested on Thursday for allegedly picking up a police officer and slamming him to the ground during a fight, police said.
According to the St. Cloud Police Department, an officer was separating two students from fighting each other, when another student who was not involved in the fight walked up to the officer and grabbed him by the neck.
Back in my(our) day, that student would have been laying on his back wondering what the hell happened. We didn't need school resource officers, we had tough male teachers who didn't put up with any shit from students.
They don’t make cops as they used to. When I was a kid, to get on the force you needed to be at least 180 pounds and in tiptop shape. A lot of the police were veterans trained in hand to hand combat, and a 180 pounder could take on a 240 pound attacker with no problem. Now a lot of wusses get on the various police forces, and the criminals have a field day.
Unfortunately, this school is a a part of Osceola county schools. They had an incident there last year where a cop slammed a student into the ground who was attacking him. The cop wound up being disciplined for being too rough with the "child." Link here: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/videos-show-florida-school-resource-officer-slam-student-concrete-n1255825
So in this case, the cop got slammed into the ground, other cops eventually got the best of him and were able to place him under arrest. In this case, the cop was commended for "using restraint" in not using fighting techniques that could have hurt the "child," where so-called "experts" said that this was a "textbook" example of how the cop should have handled this.
After I retired from the fire department, I became a teacher. I was attacked in my classroom by one of these "teens." He waited until class was over for lunch, then jumped me because I confiscated his cell phone for taking calls during class. I was able to pin him and call for help. He was originally suspended for ten days. The next day, his suspension was lifted and I was placed on "paid leave" for two months while they "investigated." What that really meant was that I had to report to the bus repair facility to do busy work. At the conclusion of the investigation, I was told that I could return if I agreed to undergo anger management classes. Instead, I quit.
Starker here, when 15, I saw a teacher who was maybe 5'8" grab a student of 17 & 6'2" and slam him against the lockers with his feet dangling. The student had taken a swing at the teacher. This teacher was a "former" Marine. The kid got suspended & there were no repercussions for the teacher other than, "Don't F with Mister ..." Just how it should've been & still should be.

ReplyDeleteThe officer probably called him the "N" word.
ReplyDeleteMy question is, if this kid was able to pick up a full grown man and slam him to the ground, why the fuck isn't the WWW recruiting him?....

ReplyDeleteYou can be sure if the cop had done that slam dunk to the kid he would gotten the Derek Chavin treatment in a heartbeat.
