SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – A Salem man is facing charges after a run-in with police and a bizarre trip to the hospital.
Officers on patrol just after 10 p.m. Tuesday on Vine Street came upon a man in the middle of the road without a shirt on. At the time, the temperature was 30 degrees.
He may be trying to keep his high going longer. The "magic" compounds in mushrooms often come out unchanged in the urine, so "recycling" it renews the dose.
It's said that in some Siberian hunter-gatherer tribes use this so the whole clan gets high on a small find of psychedelic mushrooms. First the shaman and village chiefs take them, then the warriors get to drink their urine, and finally the rest of the tribe drinks the warriors' urine. It makes perfect sense to them, but I wonder about whoever discovered this in the first place.
This is why if one uses psychedelics, use them responsibly and have a trip sitter. I hear shrooms are awesome but once in a while people get a little stupid on them and do ridiculous stuff like toss their cloths off and try to bork friends.
“Drank his own urine” that right there is a great argument for not trying mushrooms.
