Congress voted Wednesday afternoon to avoid a railroad worker strike just weeks before Christmas after President Joe Biden pressured the legislature to intervene – a move that has raised questions over his pro-union persona.
Only eight Democrats voted against the legislation to avoid a strike on December 9, while Republicans were more split on the matter.
So much for being th best friend of union labor pedo joe . You sign it, you bought it.
ReplyDeleteIt's the choo-choo chain. Rail strike, the supply train breaks down. Retail sales go into a spin before Christmas. Stock market dumps. So's who's gonna be the "real" losers? The public? Ray Ban Joe don't care about the peasants. But the fucking billionaire owners see doom so they whip out their Apple 14s and call in their markers. The fucking politicians go wide-eyed, pee their pants and BINGO. Strike goes away.
ReplyDeleteThey might not go on strike but I bet there will be a huge slowdown in operations and also, accidents will happen.
ReplyDeleteSomeone correct me if I’m wrong.
ReplyDeleteTrain companies using interstate railroads.
Amtrak is not private. Is Union Pacific?
Congress has the express written authority to regulate interstate commerce per the US Constitution.
Does regulate mean tax?
Does regulate mean decide what cargo may be carried?
Does regulate mean how much rail workers (at any job or employee level) get paid?
As the tabloid said, enquiring minds want to know.

Decertify the union, or find another job. The politicians, corporate America, and the American people -as a whole - don't give a fuck about you.
ReplyDeleteWow! Atlas Shrugged is not a work of fiction
ReplyDeleteTried posting a comment so if this is the second one, I apologize to everyone, the Internet has been acting weird ever since Covid. There are several movies of how the French railroad workers deliberately slowed things down to frustrate the Nazis. I think that’s going to be what’s going to happen. Firing railroad workers and trying to get replacements. I do not know how that will work. My guess is not very well. Everybody that reads this blog knows we’re in for a lot of pain and for those that have prepared. Congratulations for those that have not my heart goes out to you. many people figured out a way to put themselves in a slightly better position for a short period of time good old fashion, American ingenuity is what’s going to solve the problem not politicians, union bosses, giant corporations, but we the people.
ReplyDeleteMid-terms are over; the Dems don't need the unions for another two years.
ReplyDeleteThe unions didn’t “work thru the pandemic”. Most of those guys got fucked (laid off) by the companies when everything slowed down. Then the companies made bank when business increased by raising rates. They should strike anyway as a big BFYTW to the company owners and pols.
ReplyDeleteHow do you FORCE someone to go to work.
ReplyDeleteGuess we're not so different from the Chinese far as slave labor is concerned. They force work on their people; looks like our politicos think they can do the same. But don't we have this thing called a Constitution? Maybe slo-Joe should dust it off and have Jill read it to him.
DeleteWhat? The legislation IS what they wanted. Sick paid days. May not be all they days they wanted, but it is what it is. The question is going to be what the pushback from management will be. There's also that pesky 60 senators to see if they agree.
ReplyDeleteFire up the popcorn maker.
Jerry
My bad. Since they split it in 2 bills, the sick days are unlikely to pass. Unless the senate does a work around. So y'all are right. This is going to get ugly with slowdowns.
ReplyDeleteJerry
The Senate will come around...
