In “Unforgettable People” you’ll witness a car that runs on corn cobs, stand next to the world’s largest ball of string, and meet more than a dozen colorful and spirited American families and working people, from the Kentucky tobacco farmer who was shamed into becoming a world-class croquet player, to the country’s most inspiring bicycle repairman!

Back when I watched TV this was the type of programming I enjoyed, stuff that made me feel good after watching it, television's version of Paul Harvey.
Love this. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed Charles Kuralt. Both his TV and his radio features were very enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteUsed to love that show. Not like the garbage now.
ReplyDeleteI grew up watching Kuralt, too. He was very good at telling the stories.
ReplyDeleteI remember that series too. Interesting people you wouldn't hear about unless they were brought into spotlight. Mom, Dad and I watched it often.
ReplyDeleteNot same caliber of reporting talent, but 'Texas Bucket List' has same format. People and places you never heard of brought out into the light.
Charles ´ Two Families ´ Kuralt is an American Legend!!!
ReplyDeleteCharles' pick as the most scenic drive in the US. I only made it over three times last year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beartooth_Highway
ReplyDeleteAnd yet Kuralt was a real asshole to his family. He's legally famous for caselaw involving his estate and his long-time mistress. His wife found out about it only after his death, because of the will. In re Estate of Kuralt, 303 Mont. 335, 15 P.3d 932, Supreme Court of Montana , 2000.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately talent does not equal morals. See current day Hollywood. Professionally, Kuralt was outstanding. Morally, nope.
