Two years later...

LONG ISLAND - Former NYPD officer Michael Valva has been found guilty of murder in the death of his 8-year-old son.

Michael Valva, 40, allegedly forced his 8-year-old son, Thomas, to sleep in an unheated garage in below-freezing temperatures in January 2020, leading to the child's death.

*****

This guy abused his son and eventually killed him and he's only facing a maximum of 25 years?

  1. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, there is something terribly wrong with NYS’s criminal justice system. Violent criminals get no bail, so they can be released to commit more crimes while awaiting arraignment or trial, unless it is a very high profile case that makes the front page of the NewYork Post or The Daily News. They got rid of the death penalty years ago, so murderers that are jailed for life can be freed by an ultra-liberal parole board, and become a professor at Columbia U. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathy_Boudin. Her Cohorts in the Brinks robbery were also cut loose.

    1. Precisely: White, Cop, Child abuser: 3 strikes. Early release for (good & dead) behavior.

  5. A cop? well , I for one am surprised he didn't get a paid administrative leave for eight or ten years followed by lifetime disability payments for PTSD . But in my opinion they ought to have hung the S.O.B. and the same treatment for anyone who does the something similar.

  6. He's a former White Male ex-cop and a murderer. Shit in New York City I'm surprised he wasn't sentenced to a public hanging by a Black hangman.

  7. I've got many more questions than answers on this one.

Michael Valva was an NYPD cop. How do you suppose he treated citizens he interacted with? How the hell was this twisted, sadistic son-of-a-bitch allowed to get on the police force to begin with?

Then there's Angelina Pollina, Valva's significant other. Two adult psychopaths in the same house, same family, and caring for children. No one saw anything? No one ever heard anything?

Each one of these sick SOBs has parents, one way or another. Both Valva and Pollina have a mother and father, and those parents know, beyond the shadow of any doubt at all, what their children are like. I'd be they also knew the abuse the kids were suffering and never said a word.

How does this crap actually happen?

    1. We need a Constitutional Convention for many reasons, this being an important one. We need to eliminate the phrase “cruel and unusual punishment” from the Eighth Amendment and allow for creative punishment methods. Child molesters should be castrated by Belgian Malinois, thieves start losing limbs after the third conviction, child abusers, like this asshole, should be put on public display for 48 hours and whatever happens, happens and the body is then composted by pigs. Those thinking about committing crimes will have plenty of things to consider.

    2. NYC is one of only two cities I believe that you can be an "E" felon, and STILL get into the academy.

Complete fuckery if you ask me.

    3. I alwaysike the way people proposing a constitutional convention believe that that will make the people ignoring the current constitution suddenly obey and respect the one they come up with. It just so damn cute.

  8. Not to worry. Once the rest of the inmates find out what he's in for, they'll make it a life sentence.
