West Virginia takes defunding the po-lice to a whole 'nother level
HINTON, W.Va. — A small sinkhole that first appeared in June has grown so large that it may end up swallowing an entire police department building.
Part of a road and the former parking lot of the Hinton Police Department has vanished after a massive sinkhole grew to epic proportions following rains brought on by the aftermath of Hurricane Nicole.
My grandmother lived in this town, my brother and his family are there now. I'm on a Facebook group for the county to keep up with what's going on because I technically own property there that my dad left me. The sinkhole opened up and it's becoming a giant issue, because that's the main way to get from the town to the schools, or to get to town from the interstate. All kinds of issues. The whole town is built on the side of a mountain, not that there's any other choice there, and they've had problems for years with houses sliding or the earth moving causing damages. Used to be a fairly busy town, but not so much anymore. One McDonalds, one Kroger, and not a lot else. They're super excited that a Rose's just opened.
Collapsing mine underneath?
