FERNDALE -- A 6.4 magnitude earthquake followed by more than two dozen aftershocks rocked Humboldt County early Tuesday, injuring at least two people, damaging homes and businesses and leaving thousands in the dark without power.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the initial temblor struck at 2:34 a.m. and followed in rapid fire succession by more than a dozen quakes measuring 4.6 to 2.5.
If that whole damn state slid into the ocean and took western Oregon with it, America would be improved overnight.
ReplyDeleteNaw, just coastal California from the Central Valley to the west. Southern California and San Francisco for sure. The rest of the State is pretty cool.
DeleteSouthern Kommiefornia starts at Marysville.
DeleteEarthquake is why i pulled up n left eureka way back when. its just not right that half the county does a waterbed imitation.
ReplyDeleteFerndale is a mean little town full of petty people. Lived there for 2 years never so happy to leave a place...
ReplyDeleteYep, just Ferndale...earthquakes happen there all the time along with Petrolia. Their claim to fame other than a river basically running through their quaint Victorian town (think Venice Italy, but on a scale where you need a tiny footbridge to walk from your door step to the road) is that they were the town MOABed in the movie "Outbreak". Has lots of "fun" there crawling in the mud under people's houses fixing floor heaters as a HVAC tech long ago....
