In PCR tests conducted on nearly 80 Brooklyn rats, over 5 percent tested positive for the virus, according to a new study by University of Missouri and USDA scientists.
The bad news? The infected rats are likely to make a full recovery. As we learned in the early weeks of the international Covid freakout, without diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and being over the age of 85, Covid-19 is seldom fatal.
Antibodies were present in 16 percent of the rats tested, showing they managed to survive Covid, though no data was provided on whether they regained their sense of taste.
I would bet that if you tested just about anything with the covid-19 test kits being given out for free, not even a living thing, you would get a number of positive results.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered he free 8 pack (16 actual tests) and I am going to test the water from the faucet, the neighbor's pets, the snow outside and some puddle water. If I can find this thread when I am done I will post the findings. My guess is that out of 18 tests on non-humans, at least 3 will come back positive.
Yeah do that I'm keen to hear the results

Sounds like an interesting project. I'm curious about it. I hope you can find the way back, I'm going to pin this to my favorites. For a while
DeleteOfficial word on the PCR tests is you can have Covid and test negative. If you test positive you may not have Covid, get a different test. PCR test can NOT distinguish between Covid and Influenza. Totally. Useless.

When you test water/other items not saliva, you will get false positives bc the pH in the other things will make the antigen test show positive.

NYC mayor Adams just mandated all rats must wear M-95 masks indoors and out. Chink restaurants and bodegas are scurrying to order them.
ReplyDeleteNYC mayor Adams will soon be demanding Federal money for his sick rats.
ReplyDeleteDude's gotta take care of his constituents, ya know.
