WASHINGTON —
The Senate passed legislation Wednesday evening to ban TikTok from U.S. government devices, in a move designed to limit perceived information-security risks stemming from the social media app.

(NEXSTAR) – At least half a dozen states have recently enacted bans on the use of TikTok by state employees and now some federal lawmakers are hoping to ban it nationwide. But why?
Because it's a tool of the CCP, that's why. Even though the company that owns it is in the U.S., it is run by the commies.

Actually, since they are being paid by my tax dollars, I'd prefer all US govt worker drones to have ZERO access to any internet/social media sites while on the clock. Not just from the China spying on us aspect, but the sheer gall of those bastards to goof off while sponging off the taxpayers. If they have time to get on any social media site while at work, they should be fired for cause. Period.

DeleteNo federal, state or local government computer (standalone or networked) should have any non-work related software installed at all. Private companies can do what they want, but I would assume most have (or at least should have) IT policies that would also prohibit non-work or non-approved software installations.
DeleteShouldn't have any bullshit on work phones much less government phones.
ReplyDeleteI can't access ANY private email on my work computer. I pay for private encrypted email, and I'm not even allowed to access that. I don't have any social media accounts, but I'm pretty sure that they're off limits on our network as well.
