Wanted: NYC Rat Czar. Will Offer Salary as High as $170,000
New York Mayor Eric Adams is looking for a leader in the city’s war on rats, and wants someone who is “somewhat bloodthirsty” and committed to the “wholesale slaughter” of vermin.
Formally known as the director of rodent mitigation, the new job will pay $120,000 to $170,000 a year and report to the deputy mayor for operations.
There are an estimated 2 million rats in NYC. A snake eats an average of 100 rats in a year. If you were to release 10,000 snakes in the city, the rats will be gone within 2 years or so. Then release about 100 honey badgers into the city. They will eat the snakes within a year. That guarantees me a job for at least three years.
So, is part of the job description looking for rodents at the Mayor and City Council?
