Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends

PORTLAND, Ore. — The line to enter Shroom House in downtown Portland extended around the block on Friday, following news that the store was selling psychedelic mushrooms to customers.

Willamette Week and The Oregonian reported on the West Burnside supplement shop Thursday afternoon. In both cases, store staff made no secret of the fact that they were selling mushrooms containing psilocybin, although the process required that customers give identification and register with the company.

Surely mushrooms can't be so hard to find in Portland that they have to buy them from a shop.....

  1. There is only one reason that political leaders, mostly on the Left, are supporting legalization of this harmful substance, i.e. it is easier to extract honey from a beehive when the inhabitants are under the influence. And it is easier to extract freedoms from Americans when a substantial portion are stoned and docile, not to mention made more dependent on government by this "innocuous" drug.

  2. Something broke in Portland, its kind of an experiment. Just about everything is now not-illegal. Shrooms, blow, tabs, smack, like a giant free for all.
Admittedly, the last oz of shrooms I bought were shitty (prolly why so cheap). If I had a regulated store I could purchase *reasonably priced* product at vs my usual guy... I'd rather know what I'm getting.

    1. You don't need to buy them. Just walk out into any field and check the cow patties.

    2. We used to call those "smileys", but man you gotta graze on a bunch of 'em for any result.

    3. Most of the easy to access fields have been built on. Even the fields down in Tillamook County OR have been developed or farmers were encouraged to prevent "trespassers". Only when the state determines a way to get their cut do they allow things to happen legally.
But oh, that state must ban flavored vaping and other tobacco products, regardless of the fact it has been illegal to sell to minors for decades.

    4. You must've been eating a mild strain. The ones we got were Liberty Caps and they kicked our asses. An eighth ounce would fuck us up so bad we couldn't smile.

  3. Just a few years ago British researchers (spit) found the psilocybin in small doses can stop depression for a full year. I can attest.

  4. Do you have to register and/or do more than just show your license to buy beer? Scan you into that database!

  6. When I lived in Charleston, SC I heard that magic mushrooms were in abundance on one of the islands and learned this for myself one Saturday night when I bought a "personal pan pizza" at a local Pizza Hut. Apparently one of the pizza-makers decided to spike my pizza with the magic kind. About a 1/2 hour later, every time I would try to read something the letters would turn into little men with top hats and canes, dancing off the page. This lasted for something like 2 or 3 weeks! To say I od'ed on them doesn't even cover it! It was a mello high, but I couldn't turn it off.
