Where there's a will, there's a way

HENDERSONVILLE (WSMV) — A man is accused of stealing more than 4,000 gallons of diesel from a gas station in Hendersonville on East Main Street.

Javier Rodriguez-Denis, 25, is seen on dash camera video taken into custody by Hendersonville Police. They’ve been investigating his connection to stealing 4,200 gallons of diesel valued at approximately $20,000. Investigators say Rodriguez-Denis was seen on surveillance video making several trips to the gas station.

  1. He needed the gas to drive to El Paso, TX and pick up his 32 cousins.

  2. Had an Exxon franchise years ago way before digital dispensers. The old mechanical dispensers had a gear set inside to determine the ratio between the numeric wheels that counted the gallons below linked to the dollars/cents above. They were fairly easy to reach and manipulate if you were familiar with how they worked. One time I caught some punk that had pulled up to the self serve island with a van and changed the price (at the time even the 93 octane was under a dollar) to something like .11/gallon and started pumping. I ended up snatching the keys out of his truck and calling the cops on the fucker on the spot. The gallons were still accurate since we couldn't alter that, so some quick math showed what he really owed me. It took about 15 minutes of explaining to the fuzz once they got there but eventually convinced them that we were dealing with a thief, and I got my money.

I put padlocks on all the covers that afternoon.
