You have to assume every body of water in Florida has gators in it. Because it does. Guy was just one of the unfortunate few who finds out the hard way every year. People who spend time working or playing outdoors there generally know this and accept the risk. It’s pretty low, but always there. Not necessarily a dumbass, just bad luck. Eod1sg Ret
The water has to be clean to get rid of bacteria and viruses. If gators were swimming (and other things) in the water, washing in it _adds_ bacteria and viruses.
Sanibel was directly hit by hurricane Whatsit. Most of the island is either swamp or about a foot above sea-level, and most of it carefully delineated between nature preserve and development. You quickly learn where the critters are and aren't, and take your strolls accordingly. With all the development washed away, the critters just occupy whatever watering hole is available. Non native dipshit just reached into brackish water to rinse off. Any floridian could have told him it was suicidal, but now the gator has to pay.
only by the grace of God am I not alligator food - dumbass me jumped off a pier at a bar in Louisiana... yeah, don't get much dumber than that.
My buddy said until they moved a decade later - folks in that bar still talked about the dumbass drunk fker who jumped off the pier one night... amazed I lived bc a pier is the buffet line for critters
hate to sign this one - although I do believe I'm a bit smarter these days. ch
Dumb ass....
ReplyDeleteMoral of the story, try not to wash your hands in a pond in Florida.

ReplyDeleteNo, he was a dumb ass.....
DeleteHe should have expected it. They say hand washing gets rid of bacteria and viruses, but nothing about alligators

DeleteMaybe whatever he got on his hands was worse.
