Yeah, that was my first thought, caliper checking both dimensions to see if it fits the gullet.
Those White Pelicans get very big & will eat anything they can fit in their mouth.
A wonderful bird is the pelican,his bill can hold more than his belican.Food for a weekhe can hold in his beak,but I'm damned if I can see how the helican.Dixon Lanier Merritt.
