CHICAGO — The daughter of a Southwest Side alderman was shot in the leg last week during a concealed carry class taught by her father — the same alderman who shot himself in the hand last October.
According to police records obtained by WGN Investigates, 18th Ward Ald. Derrick Curtis was teaching the class on Jan. 5 at Monument of Faith Church in the Ashburn neighborhood.

Here's an idea. He could become a DEA agent like Lee Paige.
ReplyDeleteI wonder where they tabulated this one on heyjackass.com
DeleteSo many shootings, so little time

This guy is a complete ass. Not only does he try and pass himself off as a "trained" police officer he also moonlights as a faux pastor. This is what gets elected in Chicago these days
DeleteYa know, I loathe trigger laws like the 3-strikes system, but seriously, how in the hell, does any organization certify a guy who had a neglegent discharge TWICE during class, as a firearms instructor?
ReplyDeleteIt appears that being as how he's certified in Chicago, he's fully qualified to shoot other people and get away with it.
ReplyDeleteThe alderman & daughter have a better record than most NYC cops in hitting something with their firearms..
ReplyDeleteIf you've very recently accidentally shot yourself, or accidentally discharged a weapon at all, you should maybe TAKE a few classes instead of attempting to teach one.
ReplyDeleteCheck in on Derrick and his daughter. They should not handle firearms without further, qualified, instruction.
ReplyDeleteThe fact this mental giant is state-certified (by Illinois) to teach concealed carry classes goes a long way toward explaining the state of affairs in Illinois.
ReplyDeleteHe is a democRat supporter of Lori Lightfoot, that says it all. Gun safety rules only apply to others...clowns.
ReplyDeleteReason 3096 that Libs should be banned from gun ownership. The whole mentally sound thing just doesn't work for them.
ReplyDeleteThese "Guess the Race" games pop up in the strangest places.
ReplyDeleteHe should've looked into the barrel to see the bullet coming.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are in a hurry, be safe quickly, too.
Guns are good for shooting stuff with, pretty much.
