  3. Brazil will find a way to fuck this up. Gar-un-teed. Brazil is a giant dumpster fire, with more natural resources than pretty much any other nation on earth.
Lula, who was president 10 years ago, went to jail for corruption. He built a palace for himself using tax dollars. Oops. He was a union laborer who stuck his hand in a machine to lose some fingers, and thus get an office job rather than a payout. He then became president of the union. He used an actual assassin as his helper, a communist renegade. When Lula became president of Brazil through his socialist party, he was able to put his friends in as CEO's of Brazil's nationalized industries, like mining and oil... Petrobras is the oil company. His assassin, a big fat dyke named Dilma, he made CEO of Petrobras and when his 2 terms as president were up, she became president of Brazil, and Petrobras lost their credit rating globally because they got busted in the largest international corruption scandal ever, under Dilma and her boss, Lula. Luckily, some prosecutors with Interpol experience were able to use the international attention to get Dilma kicked out as president and Lula was sent to jail for bribery, corruption and theft of public funds. Dude built a palace for himself, lol, didn't think to hide the tax money he used.
Anyhow, Brazil doesn't have any checks and balances in their government. The entire roster of the Brazilian Supreme Court were members of Lula's administration, and after the current president got stabbed and covid hit during his recovery, the supreme court commuted Lula's prison sentence in the meanwhile. Lula won the presidency again, with the help of all his appointees, including, lol, people in charge of voting management, who have jobs for life.
So, yeah, Petrobras might have a good year or two. It won't be long before they'll fuck it all up.

Guyana looks like a bright star. But neighboring Venezuela is claiming that the oil reserves are mostly on their side of the border, and Guyana is siphoning them. So expect that poop cake to get baked this year too.
I have a house in Brazil, and my wife's family is all there. I have to keep the house running, because it's for my mother-in-law, and it keeps her there instead of at my house, so I keep up with the politics. Peace at any cost. On the upside, Brazil's currency is already way, way down compared to the dollar, in anticipation of their government putting the country in the toilet.

    1. I spent about a month in Brazil 20 years ago training some folks at a sister factory on the company’s new warehouse management system. I got to be fairly good friends with one of the managers there. He told me once that Brazilians had a saying: “Brazil is the country of the future……and always will be.” I thought that was pretty cynical at the time, but I think he was likely right. Unfortunately, I think we’re rapidly heading down the same path.

  5. Chyna Joe is saving the domestic oil fields to hand over to China someday, maybe he'll get a percent cut for that treachery.
