I would expect it will get into the trunk on anything approach a stop. We used to hook up stuff like this to tow or start things but we always threaded the chain through a pipe to control that. Course we usually had someone in the tow as well. OSHA would have had a cow for sure.
Right up to the point when they brake... assuming the trunk isn't ripped off first.
