a very long time ago, I think I was maybe 9 or 10. my dad came home from work in a bad mood, kind of snappy and short. mom was making liver and onions for dinner. one of his favorite meals. anyway, dad kept barking at mom and she just snapped. threw the knife she was using away from herself. it stuck in the floor in front of my dad. he started yelling at her if she threw it at him. and mom, cold as anything I ever saw. turn around and said "if I did, it wouldn't be in the floor now, would it. " dad left and went into the other room and didn't say a thing until mom said dinner was ready. there was a lot of iron in mom. I still have the knife today, a old case butchers knife.
