Whoops, time to raise taxes - again

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — From a budget perspective, the first four years of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s time in office has been a fairy tale: A seemingly endless flow of money that paid to enact some of the country’s most progressive policies while acting as a bulwark against a tide of conservative rulings on abortion and guns from the U.S. Supreme Court.

But just days into his second term, that dream appeared to be ending. Tuesday, Newsom announced California likely won’t collect enough money in taxes to pay for all of its obligations, leaving a $22.5 billion hole in its budget.

  1. Personally, I find it entertaining when Leftist politicians run out of other people's money.

    1. Count on it.
Then 6 months later, Comma-La steps down. I wonder what government post his Aunt Nancy will be appointed to.

  4. Person who wrote that article never read any of the real fairy tales. The real Mother Goose stuff would give most of today’s folks a good case of the vapors, and my mom had a couple of books of Central European fairy tales that could have been taken from “Saw”.
Which, come to think of it, is about like Cali nowadays

    1. Really. The original "Hansel and Gretel" is so f-in dark it's downright scary. Subtle hint: They do not survive. Jack the Giant Slayer? Doesn't survive. Jack and the Beanstalk, doesn't survive. Even the Little Mermaid? Doesn't survive, as that story is all about class barriers and how one trollop shouldn't get her hopes up (and The Ginger Idiot's wife should have read the original book and not watched Disney's version.)

  5. At some point, he'll need to build a wall to keep people from leaving. Or institute policies that rob the majority of Californians the ability to independtly leave. Nah, they'd never do anything restrict the ability of people to load up a car and leave.

    1. It will likely be an exit tax, like the Feds do when you try to relinquish your citizenship. Or just maintain, "Once a Califruitopian, always a Califruitopian".

Again just like the feds(taxes owed on world income, regardless of residency, with certain provisos.

Disclaimer:. I am neither a lawyer nor a (((tax attorney))), nor do I play one on TV.

    2. Do you or anyone in your household have any pension or deferred plan with CA? Do you or anyone in your household have assets at any financial institution which has at least branch offices in CA?
Has your new state entered into an agreement with CA?
Did you sell any residence in CA before moving?
Did you notify buyer of a possible tax delinquency, or lien(s) on said property?
Did you sell all real estate holdings in CA before moving?

There's more, but you get the idea.

      Because thats how.

  10. If you think they have a problem now, just wait until San Fran starts paying out $5,000,000 plus debt cancellation per black resident for slavery reparations.
