The causes of property theft and personal assault are clear: The difficulty of Bible study groups to find reliable transportation from their chess tournaments.
A lot doesn't add up here besides no cameras. Left her stuff out. Person who causes problems. Keys, etc taken. Breaks car window but has the keys to start the car. Starts her day at noon (okay, maybe 2nd shift, I'll let that slide). Nope. This is an insurance scam or something else.
Came with the same thoughts. Also, "She said the alleged thief busted out her driver’s side window." I'd think this means they recovered the car, but apparently still hoping someone will spot it. So what...some glass on the ground leads to this conclusion? That's very specific...but as you say, WHY would someone do something to a car that's going to draw attention to it when they have the keys (and I'd guess walking through the lot pressing the unlock button on a remote to try to find it). Would be interested in the likely eventual follow up about the insurance scam, as you say.
I first thought someone stole her backpack containing car keys, then stole her car. "...Driver's window broken out..." would indicate two separate crimes, possibly/probably two perpetrators. Tough day... Ed
From the article, "...low and behold..." What has HAPPENED to the English language and modern "journalism"? It's "lo and behold"...a phrase that entered the English language around 1808.
I go to my local Planet Fitness and hardly anyone locks up their purses and belongings. I've opened more than one locker to find it crammed full of stuff. If my car key and phone are not with me, then they are in a locked locker (I just put the lock in one of my gym shoes so I don't forget it). We're a relatively small and safe town but I don't trust people that much.
I have had two cars stolen. One by breaking a window and one was just gone. It is a shock to find an empty parking spot where your vehicle was parked. My suspicions are aroused by the details of this theft, but I also know the story told in the news is rarely factual and subject to verification.

Looking at the brightside: It's Planet Fitness where the monthly fee is only $10. Heck that's less than she spends on tampons every month.

ReplyDeleteWhich coincidentally is about the last year English, grammar and penmanship were taught in public schools.
