It was a good run, man

Ozzy Osbourne announced the cancellation of his upcoming shows, and said his touring career is over because he "is not physically capable (of it)."

In a statement released on Wednesday, the 74-year-old said he had a major accident four years ago in which he damaged his spine and that he can no longer cope with the travel required for a tour.

  1. Glad I got to see him twice, once on a solo tour (in the 90's), and just a few years ago with my sons when he did a final tour with Black Sabbath. l learned two things at that Black Sabbath reunion. First, that I liked Ozzy better solo, and Sabbath better with Dio. Second, one of my teenaged sons didn't know what pot smelled like yet. We were walking through the parking lot and he asked "what's that smell?" I said "good answer, that's someone smoking pot".
When they were teens I tried to get them to "Classic" concerts... The Who, Van Halen, Def Leppard (twice), AC/DC, Styx, Journey... I was always surprised at all the old people there, until I realized I was one too.

  2. I finally checked seeing Black Sabbath and Ozzy off my bucket list on that same Farewell tour.
    It was a great concert.
It's the end of an era folks.

  3. Ultimate Sin Concert, at Long Beach Auditorium, with Metallica opening. No one knew who the hell they were.
    What a show that was!

  4. I saw both Black Sabbath and Van Halen at the same concert in Germany back in 1978. First time I ever did Acid. Man, that was a trip.

    1. That sounds incredible! I was never a Van Halen fan, but I wish I had seen Sabbath!
