    1. When I worked for Safeway's warehouse, we serviced the Hawaii stores twice a week. We'd ship entire shipping containers full of nothing but Spam.

    2. Do you mean one container twice week or multiple containers every week?
And I'm guessing a container would be about 45,000 pounds of product?

    3. We loaded for the Hawaii stores twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, so it was usually a container twice a week - 18 double stacked pallets about 4 feet high, so 36 pallets total. That shit's heavy. I don't recall what the weight limit was on those containers.

    4. That load's dimensions are roughly the same as 12 cords of oak firewood.
You're right. That shit IS heavy. Nice load to haul, though, being only 4 feet off the deck. Corner like a sports car.

  2. If the requirement on entering the store was to leave with a free can of spam or pay $5, I'd pay the $5!

#7- "In the US, the undisputed leader in Spam consumption is the state of Hawaii, where seven million cans of Spam are eaten every year. The US territory of Guam is no slouch either. There, the average annual Spam product consumption is about 16 cans per person."

    1. And thats why I said it would be hugely funny when a USN ship pulled into Guam during exercises. The Guamanians could introduce the crew to Spam.
(Originally, it was the USA which introduced Spam to the world )
