Run, Kyle, run!

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Attorneys for a man shot and injured by Kyle Rittenhouse during a protest in 2020 are asking a federal judge to give them more time to serve Rittenhouse with a civil lawsuit, alleging that he is purposefully trying to evade them.

  1. If he is in fact ducking service, why? He was found not guilty by reason of self defense. Not to mention, they know who his attorney is. Just serve that guy.

He also won a major payout from one or more news organizations for defamation. He should counter sue both the plaintiff and his attorneys for enough; One Hundred Million sounds fair, that they scream Uncle when they're served.

The judge, at the preliminary hearing, should laugh them out of court and hold the lawyers in contempt for malpractice and slap them with a heavy fine. That's the way it would work in the real world, IMHO.

    1. Because civil lawsuits have nothing to do with whether the defendant was found guilty or not. Remember, OJ was found to be civilly at fault for the two murders, but not criminally at fault.

      Whole different ballgame.

You see this in police shootings all the time. All the evidence shows that it was a good shoot and that the scumbag deserved it. Yet the family will go after the cop and the department and the city and the county and the state for big bucks, and win those bucks over and over again. To the point that agencies and municipalities just fork over the money as soon as the lawsuit is filed, often before the criminal case is even tried, which, of course, taints the jury pool against the defendant because he/she must be guilty because why else would the agency or municipality or whatever pay the civil lawsuit, right?

    2. Yep only a majority of the jury to convict just as in his civil suits. Rittenhouse has set up a go fund me type of account. Sorry, what a douche after winning millions.

    3. Anon, I can just about guarantee you his awards are tied up in appeals and they will be for at least a couple years before he ever sees one thin dime, then some pussy judge will reduce it drastically, just like they always do.
      Think before you judge.

    4. Agreed. I am a lawyer, and winning millions almost never means pocketing millions, and certainly not any time soon after the verdict.

    5. Winning millions means the lawyers made out all right, once the money is settled.....if ever....

  2. “The judge said in that case that Huber’s death “could plausibly be regarded as having been proximately caused by the actions of the governmental defendants.”

Is the judge saying he would have been cool with the cops beating, gassing and shooting the rioters and arsonists? Somehow I doubt that.

  7. "Attorneys and private investigators for Huber’s father spent over 100 hours trying to locate Rittenhouse, tracking down addresses in seven states before they found the home of his mother and sister in Florida. The lawsuit was served on Rittenhouse’s sister, who said that he wasn’t home. Adelman said that was sufficient to qualify as being served in the Huber case."
