might be he just getting her used to the idea of shooting too. she does look like she would be a good catch. you have to remember most girls never shot anything until they get a guy who is into shooting and even then you have to teach them. first time out, BIG target and close range. give her the thrill of hitting something. then work on getting accurate and longer ranges. but the smile you get back when she starts hitting is worth it.
The tye strip around the receiver tells me that they just left either a gun show or a shop with their new purchase. My mother, all 4'10" of her fired every gun I bought while I was still living at home. My second wife had an absolute fear of guns having been shot in the head when she was five. After we moved to the country, she came around and learned to shoot. That could easily be her the first time she shot an AR.
I hope this is a good-natured joke picture that the girl is in on. I always hated the idea of telling novice shooters to do shit like this -- or the similar of giving a 95 lbs. girl a .460 Magnum the first time she ever shoots a firearm. That's one good way to make someone hate shooting forever. -Just a Chemist
Yeah, try shooting lefty prone without a good stock weld and come back and say that again. There is no buffer tube between the forward assist and your upper teeth. Still have the scar from boot camp to prove it.
Ain't no rear sight. She is not going to hit anything.

Then she needs to find somebody to teach her the right way to hold a rifle.

She can't miss..... fracturing her face
DeleteNow let out half a breath and squeeze the trigger slowly.
ReplyDeleteCheek weld is not in fashion. Eye socket weld is all the rage.
DeleteShe'll be sporting a black eye to go along with that mascara as soon as she fires a round the way she's holding that.

Gun Bunnies are cancer.
ReplyDeleteBasic training at Ft Polk in Jan thru March 68, we still used M-14s, but we did have one day of range time on M-16s.
ReplyDeleteThe instructor demonstrated how light the recoil on the 16 was by placing the butt of the stock on his nose and chin and firing a few rounds…
All of us for fun duplicated the feat once we got to firing line.
All of this is to say, it might mess up her make up, but not do much damage…
M-14s? We busted caps with 1903 Springfields back in my range days.

DeleteA lot of trouble to go to for prominent cheekbones, if you ask me.

She will still look great with a black eye.
