For at least a year now, Schwimmer says hundreds of Amazon packages for Trulee Evanston, a senior living community a few blocks from her home, keep showing up at her house.

I've had packages delivered to the wrong address a couple times since I've been here - same house number, same road, different town and State. Fortunately there's only about a 3 mile difference and the guy that got them was kind enough to deliver them to me.
My problem with UPS is that I understood that the drivers weren't allowed to back up. So they have to carry packages from the street up the driveway which is 125 feet and on a slope. Last year, we ordered a microwave from Best Buy, two-day shipping. I saw the driver, a little skinny guy, look in the back of his truck and leave. A two-week driver hold was put on the package. Calls and complaints did no good, of course, so two weeks later a husky guy carried the microwave up the driveway. More recently, I had bought 30 pound amp on ebay and the guy backed up the driveway to deliver it. I don't know if the policy changed, the driver didn't care, or I was wrong about it in the first place, but Google told me.
ReplyDeleteHuh? UPS drivers aren't allowed to nose in, they have to back in to deliver. I've never ever had a UPS or any other delivery driver leave my packages at the street.
DeleteI'll pay extra to not have UPS be the delivery service. More than once they have not delivered somethibg, claimed it was delivered and when they show the signature its not mine. I figure the driver steals shit. They also wont open the gate or cone to the door, i went to UPS of their driving tossing parcels over the fence as they drove by.

Same here, except DHL. Their misdeliveries have been the usual way I've been introduced to my neighbors.
DeleteFree stuff and Evanston? I thought this post was gonna be about reparations .. one of the many things for which über woke Evanston is known.

Living there and reading that, I'd either quit the weed or buy from an "outside supplier."
I have a similar situation. The post office delivers a lot of mail to me for another subdivision resident with the same address numbers but on a different street. The funny thing about it is the other resident is a mailman himself.
ReplyDeleteMaybe his co-workers don’t like him
DeleteI had the same problem with Amazon. I kept getting packages for a house in a new subdivision nearly a mile away from me. Every time I could manage to catch the Amazon person dropping off the package, I would quiz them if they knew what the house number was, and what street they were on. When they couldn't tell me the house number, I would point to it on my house, and of course, there is a street sign at the end of the street that is easily seen if they would only pay attention. The problem with them is that they blindly follow Google maps, and when Google doesn't know the address, it offers another one that is similar.
ReplyDeleteAmazon is crashing along with the rest of the economy.
ReplyDeleteThe number of fuck ups from Amazon is on the rise.
If I could quit Amazon, I would.
Fuck Jeff Bozos with his spaceship 🚀.
Not long after I moved in 2016 I got a package for Quad County Manor. It turned out that the guy that ordered it at lived in this house at one time. Couple years later he went to vote and gave our address to the election clerk. My wife was the clerk.
ReplyDeleteI have Amazon deliver to my PO box, UPS always misdelivered or lost my orders to house address.
