GRAND MARAIS, Minn. — A Grand Marais man was charged Friday with fatally beating an elderly man previously convicted of child sexual assault, who he believed had stalked his young daughter in the past.
Levi Axtell, 27, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Lawrence V. Scully, 77, who was beaten to death Wednesday at his home in Grand Marais.

DeleteStarker was here.
It's got to be a better weapon than Samson's favorite weapon for mass killings, the jawbone of an ass.
DeleteHe should be punished with 10 hours of community service, then have his record wiped clean.
ReplyDeleteNote that it was a shovel AND a piece of antler.
ReplyDeleteAt this point with what information is available, I have a new hero
ReplyDeleteIf this happened in Florida he would have had to bring thousands of fire ants.
ReplyDeleteI find the defendant not guilty.
ReplyDeleteWhen oh when are we going to have Common Sense Antler control…??
ReplyDeleteHe should have used the shovel to dig a hole, but I can't blame the guy and hopefully the courts go easy on him.
ReplyDeleteLocal story on my liberal tv news. Keeping it quiet. Probably a snow shovel and a hunk of Bullwinkle

So what's the problem here?
ReplyDeleteThe young man took out a restraining order 6 years ago because the deceased was stalking him. Then the courts removed it suddenly.
ReplyDeleteThe deceased also did time for pedo and started showing up at the banies daycare... but police didnt follow up.
There is a lot more too this one.

ReplyDeleteI remember a few years ago some bloke in jolly old used a narwhal tusk to defend against a terrorist stabby dude.
ReplyDeleteHe had to do that because there ain't no other weapons there.
Pretty sure there are plenty of other ways to kill a man in Minnesota. But still, extra style points on this one.
And that’s how an upstanding person takes care of his community when the police don’t.
