The store originated as “Turner’s Department Store,” founded by James Luther “J.L.” Turner, and his son, Cal Turner. In 1955, the Turners transitioned the department store into Dollar General.

We can split the blame. The Turners were from Lafayette but they opened their first store in Scottsville because even back then they knew a bird doesn't shit in its own nest.
What I like about Dollar General is that you don't have to dress up like when you go to WalMart.
ReplyDeleteDamn. Just… damn! Can anyone dress down further from Walmart?
DeleteYep.
ReplyDeleteThey wont even maintain the stores in Scottsville.
Bathrooms broken with outside porta johns, no sinks, paint peeling off interior walls from roof leaks. Weeks at a time with no refrigerated or frozen food. Thats the dollar general market, the first store ever is a disaster.
I have written corporate headquarters multiple times about the conditions. Never a word in response.
How can you run a clean grocery market without sinks for employees and customers to wash hands.
Employees peeing outside in 20 degree weather.

All this time I thought they were from Goodlettsville.
