A mobile home park is suing the City of Anaheim over a golf course after residents, who have lived nearby for years, started getting pelted with golf balls when the city made changes to the course.
The problem started for residents of the Casa Hermosa Mobile Home Park when the tee box for the 15th hole at the Dad Miller Golf Course was moved closer to their homes.
Perhaps the mobile home park residents could build a gun range. Backstop optional.
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteWith my apologies to the residents of the trailer park, one of the top 10 funniest events of my life was watching one of our 4-some do the "really drunk who gives a fuck" slice thing and it went through a window that must have been 2-300 sq feet and came to rest at the heal of a realtor showing the place - which in the 90's was probably going for a mil +. Another top-10 moment was another guy in the group laughing so hard he peed himself and nearly passed out. Action golf at it finest.
ReplyDeleteThe dudes ain't worried about the 40 year old decrepit single-wides gettin' pelted. That's momma's problem. It's Billy Bob's 2023 Dodge Rams parked next to them.
ReplyDeleteI'd be gathering up the balls and selling them back to the guys, but what do I know?
ReplyDeleteIs that a Mulligan?
ReplyDeleteIt always pisses me off to see city-owned golf courses. "it'll make a profit!" they claim. "It'll increase property values, and pay for itself!" Meanwhile, all those getting taxed can't afford to play there, and the golf courses NEVER turn a profit, and get subsidized forever.
ReplyDelete"Grinding on the face of the poor" in very deed, IMHO.
Tons of public courses where I live (apparently we're some kind of per-capita golf capital) and I can tell you a competently run golf course, even a public one, has a good chance to turn a profit.
DeleteI also lived on a private golf course for a lot of years, and the house is still in my family. Requiring a pricey membership and charging crazy green fees for "guests" does nothing to cut down on drunkenness and stupidity.
I saw a house in a golf neighborhood that looked like it was airlifted from Beirut.
ReplyDeleteI asked the guy I was giving a ride home, WTF?
He said the developer changed the course design AFTER the neighbor closed on the house. He was in a huge battle with the HOA and refused to fix the holes. He claimed the damage wasn’t his problem because they altered the route of the golf hole.
Never did find out if the homeowner prevailed.
