    4. Stopped in Okinawa on my way to Nam, Stopped again returning from a mediva to Gaum then again on the way home. So, nope was stationed there and I don't know what Skynyrd has to do with Okinawa. I know BC Street.

    1. I was at the Starwood amphitheater Skynyrd show in 1997 when the power went out after about 2 songs. Some dudes where trying to break the speed of sound on Murfreesboro Rd and clipped a lightpole, and the transformer fell on a big transformer - took out the grid.

The place went crazy after about 15 mins- the only light were the exit signs and soon the bonfires started ... everywhere. It was the most insane crazy shit I had seen !

  8. I could enjoy Synryd, but wasn't a huge fan. Main problem with Free Bird is the radio stations played the shit out of it, so it got old.

He also formed the Rossington-Collins band. If that don't ring a bell, check YouTube for "Don't Misunderstand Me". I like that one.

    1. That was my problem with it too. The guys I ran around with in the army were all southern boys, so I heard it every single motherfucking day, all day. That was 40 years ago and I still skip over that song if I've got a Skynyrd CD in the truck.

  9. Mr. Lane, I love the live version of Freebird and at the beginning of February this year, I believe this guy played for us at a private event and I recorded some of it if you would be interested in posting. I've sent emails to confirm but he was introduced as the last surviving member and looks similar but only hesitating because I am not 100% sure - also had the new guy from Boston singing for us.
