This is how much a six figure income is worth in California
Earning a six-figure income has long been a sign of success and financial comfort for American workers. Still, with high inflation and cost of living expenses, the yearly income may not be enough to support a life in California.
I read earlier this morning that the new "Climate Action Plan" by the California Air Resources Board refers to those making $100,000 or less as "low income".
The chart explains it well, but I'd like to add that while job hunting, a recruiter had a job in silicone valley with salary at around 110k. Asked a friend in Ca what he thought of it and was told if I took the job, I'd be taking a huge loss
