VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A fleeing driver in a stolen vehicle ended up cutting into a radio interview of Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood on Tuesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
Mike Chitwood used to be police chief in Portland, Maine. In the early 90s our daily AM routine would cross paths and we exchanged pleasantries at Green Mountain Roasters for morning coffee and bagel. In 1979 it was Chitwood who found Earthday founder, Ira Einhorn's dead girlfriend in his closet in Philadelphia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ira_Einhorn
