SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A "Harm Reduction Vending Machine" as it's called, has been installed in the lobby of the Edwin M. Lee Apartments in San Francisco. It's an affordable housing community in Mission Bay where many military veterans live. The vending machines will soon dispense free sterile syringes.
As a libertarian I am perfectly fine with ending the laws against syringe possession and purchase, but why does every government action need to be to make things free? Why not just include the heroin or fentanyl too?
ReplyDeleteGiving the drugs away would be cheaper than the War on Drugs has been. It would put an end to much of the property and violent crime associated with drug use. And the problem would quite largely be self-resolving, though the temporary increase in overdose deaths would be unpleasant.
DeleteWhy should taxpayers pay for these dirtbag's drugs? They gonna pay for my beer? Just build a wall around San Franthithco and they can stay there a'la Escape from New York.
DeleteWhat? Syringes only? No sterile crack pipes? Nemo
ReplyDeleteSterilize the assholes that do this kinda shit.
ReplyDeleteMy god. As goes California, so goes America...
ReplyDeleteSo now you’re going to have the drug addled camping out in the lobbies of the Veteran facilities…
ReplyDelete…..maybe the Vets need to sabotage, empty and booby trap the dispensers once the CCTV is disabled of course
Could they try any harder to kill them all off?
