  1. These folks are doing a media blitz. Ryan McBeth, an up-and-coming mil blogger has another take on this. Haven't seen discussion on prices. I'll regard it seriously when I see a major PD adopt and use for couple years, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, etc. Oh, and when the Secret Service Presidential detail carries.

    1. Yeah, I'll never adopt to it in my lifetime.

    2. WC, yes I doubt very seriously I'm going to wear out any of my guns.

  2. I'm sure they'll be every bit as popular as Remington's EtronX rifles were 20 years ago.

  4. The thing weighs two and a half pounds UNLOADED. One of my “typical” 9mm, 15 round magazines, loaded with self defense ammunition, weighs in at just about 10 ounces. This thing is gonna be over 4 (FOUR) damn pounds <> No information about whether it will allow, or what one must do to carry with one in the chamber. No information about optics, lights, or lasers (but adding anything turns it into an even better club). And for all the fanboys all over the internet, BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR ENTHUSIASM. It’s a small step to enhance the “SMART” software (provided by your government at absolutely zero cost to you, of course //sarc//). Ever heard the one about the camel getting his nose under the tent? I’m a strong no.

  5. Biometrics always fail- after a weekend of yardwork and manual labor, my fingerprints are trashed- iPhone says "try again" on my fingerprint.

    So- not on my life.

  6. Hi Kenny,
From reading up on operational detail's, it takes at least one second from the time that the user inputs his info.. (finger prints or what ever) until the gn desides it's him/her nd allows the person handling the piece to "Proceed!!!!!"
Yeah sure... That's!!!!!! all it takes.... one second.. (or more) in a real gunfight to get yer' monkey ass killed!!!!!!

  7. how long before the mere existence of this comes up in court?

"the defendant knew there were more secure firearms available, but chose not to purchase them, proving negligence beyond a reasonable doubt!"

  8. I saw a piece yesterday where someone said this will have a huge effect on gun crime. How? A few hundred thousand of these sold to fools versus the millions of real guns already out threre. A mandate will create a huge market in the old mechanical guns. My estate will have a ball. This is like the market in gasoline and diesel vehicles after the electric mandate takes effect, unless some sane person takes over.
