Following practically every mass public shooting, the gun control advocates call for “reasonable” responses to “gun violence”. One of the present favorite alleged solutions of the those who seek to ban guns in society is the incrementalism that includes the opportunity to leverage a tragedy by calling for “Red Flag” laws.
A “Red Flag” law is nothing more than a gun confiscation order. That is its failure as a solution to violence. But, that is the very reason why gun abolitionists proffer it at every opportunity.
Not to mention the "bearing false witness" problem.
ReplyDeleteAnd even if you sue for your rights, and win, it is doubtful that you will regain your weapons. A one way street.
ReplyDeleteCould any of these "mass" shootings have been stopped by a “Red Flag” law? Where are the stories about family, friends, and loved ones, going to the authorities begging them to remove weapons from the "shooter" for mental health reasons? How about the times law enforcement had to tell said acquaintances "Sorry we can't protect the "shooter" or the potential victims because there aren't enough laws on the books to ... You know, proactively do anything."
ReplyDeleteWe now have so many laws that we are in the socialist wet-dream of "You show me the Man, I'll show you the crime". But "they" get to decide which laws to follow, and when, and who gets the law applied to whom.
I live in a "red Flag" state. I hope to God my ex doesn't find out where I live. All it would take is one phone call and a lie and I'm screwed. As such I have a couple of my guns in a place the cops cannot find. If she does try, I would then seek retribution.
ReplyDeleteNanny State is real. Ex wife accused me of assault and called cops. 3 days and 2 nights later I got out of jail. In court she admitted to striking me. Judge ruled self defense on my part. Not guilty. No apologies or any consequences for her. Despite not being guilty and NO priors my lawyer told me I was lucky. The system is COMPLETELY corrupt.
ReplyDeleteAnd I had the exact opposite experience, in California no less.
DeleteWhen shit turned sour in my marriage, my ex called the cops on me a couple times for 'assaulting' her. The cops dismissed her claims and gave me a ride to my folk's house to keep her from escalating it.
During the divorce proceedings, she hit me with a restraining order for 'assaulting' her. When I went before the judge at the hearing, the FEMALE judge laughed at her and told my ex to quit wasting the court's time.
Got guns? Somebody tries to steal them? Reasonable response?
ReplyDeleteGive them your wallet. Thank them for their service. And tuck them safely into bed. Next door.
They'll never try that again.
They don't want a reasonable response to "gun-violence". If they wanted a reasonable response to gun violence, they'd stand the perp against a wall and shoot him/her the very first time they used a firearm to commit an unjustified act of violence against another.
ReplyDeleteShow of hands:
Delete* 1999 -- how many remember 5yo Elian Gonzalez arrested by a fUSA Border Patrol SWAT platoon as they pointed machine-guns at the child?
Yet another headline from the department of "no shit Sherlock".
ReplyDeleteThe sad part is this school shooting problem will not end. It is the perfect vehicle to further the gun control agenda. That is why the lefties absolutley will not support arming teachers and staff, because that would stop it.
ReplyDeleteThey will literally let kids be murdered to take your guns away. Red Flag laws are just a means towards an end.
