Expelled lawmaker Pearson to return to Tennessee House

(AP) — The second of two Black Democrats expelled from the Republican-led Tennessee House will return to the Legislature after a Memphis commission voted to reinstate him Wednesday, nearly a week after his banishment for supporting gun control protesters propelled him into the national spotlight.

  4. This was a combination response:
    1) A slap across the Republican face along with the creation of a "martyr"
    2) A demonstration that no matter what a Democrat does, they will have the full support of their party.
