Hey, nobody pays attention to an Amazon van, right?

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An FBI investigation uncovered a man, living in Oklahoma City, was believed to be behind a large black-market marijuana trafficking business.

Court documents showed Brandon Ye used a fake Amazon delivery van to move the drug from Oklahoma marijuana grows to a home on NW 58th Street. A neighbor KFOR spoke to said she was not surprised.

I used to know a guy that ran weed from Humboldt County down to Modesto using a tow truck. The weed wasn't carried in the tow truck itself, but the beater car or truck it was hauling. In the 10-12 years I knew him, he never got stopped, hassled or searched and he'd drive that shit straight down Highway 101 which was heavily patrolled during the harvest season. Cops would blow past him and never give him a second glance.

  1. A clear case of 'Gray Man' traveling about without gaining attention from the authorities. And if he had been stopped and the drugs were found, he could easily claim he had no idea of the contents of the towed vehicle - he was just moving it. Intelligent man.

  2. I had a friend in college that ran pounds of weed from somewhere down south back to the midwest. He would rent a car, since he drove a jeep, which I always thought was risky. But one day, he asked if he could "borrow" my vehicle, which I allowed. To this day I do not know what I was thinking! He made it back safe, got my vehicle and refused future asks to use it again. He passed last December, may he rest in peace...

  4. i recall that being a bartender in Eureka come harvest was fun times . when the growers came down out of the hills, they were thirsty and ready to party. they had no cash for the first day or two...but lots n lots of 'trade goods' that overflowed the tip jars for a week or three at least.

  5. My dad hitched a ride with a friend to visit some friends going to college, turns out the friend was also making a run to deliver a trunk load of illegal whiskey.

  7. back when cars used to have screw in number plates, I knew a guy who would steal them right off the lot with a tow truck. he used to buy "wrecks" to get the plates and title
then get a new one off the lot. he did that up to 72-3 I think before he got shot is some deal that went bad and stopped altogether. you are right, most cops never look twice at a tow truck. last time I saw him was in the early 2000's he was retired from that kind of life. dave in pa.

  8. I recall hearing about a similar tactic being used in south Florida during the 80d to move coke from the planes to destinations north. If you ever get the chance, check out "cocaine cowboys". It's an amazing documentary.
