A Chinese owned ship, flagged under the Marshall Islands which means the US is obligated by treaty to defend. So many things wrong with this picture that have nothing to do with Iran.
“Section 311 (a) The Government of the United States has full authority and responsibility for security and defense matters in or relating to the Republic of the Marshall Islands. (b) This authority and responsibility includes: (1) the obligation to defend the Federated States of Micronesia and its people from attack or threats thereof as the United States and its citizens are defended;… (c) The Government of the United States confirms that it shall act in accordance with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations in the exercise of this authority and responsibility.”
My son was in the Navy. He extended his 6 year enlistment for 6 months, to be able to accompany his ship on a goodwill tour of Europe and parts north. Two weeks later, they were diverted to the Gulf of Oman, due to the nation of Iran acting up. They kept patrolling the Arabian Sea, and only occasionally did they go through the Gulf of Oman. His job was as a sonar tech, but during the time there, he was normally one of two .50 caliber Ma Deuce machine guns. He told me that the Iranians were not only reckless by going too close to their ship, trying to provoke an incident, but they were also just poor sailors, having trouble with controlling their ship or boat, when making a run at the larger ship. The ship had a number of other crew members, male and female, who were scheduled to muster out during the time while the ship was at sea. The Navy did a kind thing for them, and docked at Oman, and flew all of them home, via commercial flights, to their home base of Norfolk. The ship did have some incidences with the Iranians, who came within 200 yards of them, while my son was aboard. I have no doubt that things are getting very heated in the middle east, and that Iran is simply making a statement to Biden and the current administration along with the military that they don't think that we are capable of doing anything about squat, while Biden is in charge. And I believe that they are correct. As I look at things that are happening, with nations coming together that have never been allies, it is apparent that America is losing it's place on the national stage. That lays right on Biden's lap, and nowhere else. I can only hope that whomever is elected in 2024 is strong enough and has the guts to fix things, and quickly. First thing on the agenda would be to stop with the woke BS. There is no place in the military for such a thing. The only thing that the military needs is things that ensure their leathality.
The tanker is owned by a Chinese company and the oil was bound for Texas. That sounds like the Chinese need to do something about this.
ReplyDeleteI got a feeling the Chinese WILL do something about this.
DeleteNot to worry Admiral Biden is on the case and he's great at torpedoing things.
ReplyDeleteAs long as he gets his 10%.
DeleteIs it wrong that I dont believe diddly squat they say?
ReplyDeleteNope.
Wonder what's really going on?

A Chinese-owned ship but the U.S. has to kick the Iranians off of it?
