Just stocking up for when Biden bans incandescent light bulbs
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An unusual theft in the Metro Park neighborhood has one Oklahoma City man puzzled. He claims someone has been stealing his lightbulbs off his front porch. Every time he replaces them, they end up gone.
Use (relatively) cheap LED lamps at 2700K ( soft white). Color rendition sucks. They'll last 10 years ( if you use them 20 minutes per day). Incandescent lamps are valuable. No one cares about the LEDs.
The LEDs will last decades. The power supply circuits for the LEDs in the cheap bulbs seem to last about 2 months. It's worth buying the better, more expensive bulbs to avoid the cheap power supplies.
I have mini florescents in all my sockets. They emit in the "daylight" spectrum.
I tried an LED bulb to replace a florescent that had died a year or so ago, The LED didn't last a week. 'Course it was "made in China", so there's that.
There was a streetlight outside my buddies house, used to shine right in his bedroom window. Around about the 5th bulb they replaced, one of the workers sauntered over and asked us kids if we knew anything about why this one lamp kept getting shot out...? ... and that was the last one they put up.

ReplyDeleteHell, with the grid exposed to being destroyed by EMP I'm skipping incandescent bulbs and going straight for wax candles and wale oil.
