SCORE!!!

A cargo container with gold and other items worth over $20 million Canadian (US$14.8 million) was stolen from Toronto’s Pearson International airport, authorities said Thursday.

  2. All it would take would be for someone in the warehouse to slap a fake label over the correct one to re-identify ABC Corp's container as belonging to XYZ Corp. Then XYZ Corp shows up with a truck to collect "their" container, the fake label is scanned so the computer shows that ABC Corp's container is still in the building.
    In the past 20 years or so there have been many investigations and a few arrests at Pearson. Biker gangs have allegedly infiltrated most of the cargo and baggage handling companies to create a drug pipeline. When a plane lands the customs officers are not on the ramp, they're in the terminal waiting for the passengers after they collect their baggage. If a baggage handler in the Caribbean puts a specially marked package in the baggage compartment it can be collected at the destination airport by a baggage handler with minimal risk of detection. Every day in the winter there are many vacation charters returning from Mexico and the Caribbean.
