Some folks collect stamps, some folks collect coins...

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Commemorative Maker’s Mark bottles went on sale Friday morning.

The special bourbon bottles come out each year on the opening day of Keeneland’s Spring Meet.

Fans lined up at the Liquor Barn in Hamburg to get them.

*****

I like bourbon but there's no way in hell I'd waste my time standing in line for a fancy bottle with the same whiskey that you'd find in one of their regular bottles.

  1. My Aunt has a small collection of those pole mounted ceramic glass insulators. She collected them as a much younger person who noticed them up there, then when poles were being replaced and left beside the road, collected various colors - configurations.

Why - no idea. Just caught her fancy I guess.

I collect knives and multi-tools. Have far more than I need and I can sell or give away to any I choose. I consider them highly useful. They are an investment. Or at least that is MY excuse, lol.

    1. I used to collect antique barbed wire, I used to know a guy that collected railroad date nails (google them), another that collected antique spurs, another that collected 19th century dolls, another that collected oddball rifle and pistol cartridges..... Everybody has something that catches their eye.

    2. I seem to collect oil lamps and square-body Chevys, and the old lady is good with it.

  2. It's a family tradition, handed down from generation to generation. Who knew?

    1. I swore after I got out, I'd avoid a line any time I could. You want to hear me bitch and whine, just tell me to go stand in a line somewhere.

    2. If there is a line, I probably wouldn't like it anyway.
