Thoughts on Tucker Carlson’s Firing

This is a context you won’t find elsewhere {smiles}. The phone has been blowing up…. Context and some details matter.

First, Carlson was being paid about $20 million a year by Murdoch.  He had about 3 years left on his contract and will be paid the full contract amount.  Carlson found out about 10 minutes before Fox Corp made the announcement.  They did not “part ways,” Tucker Carlson was fired.

  1. See, I disagree.
Carlson's firing was an unwritten (or at least undisclosed) part of the Dominion settlement. Plain and simple.

The cost to get rid of Carlson is small compared to what the settlement was....and what it could have cost had they gone to trial with an antagonistic judge....
They were fucked either way, this way they got some lube.

    1. No reason it can't be both. I.E. He's starting to wander from the orthodoxy, and Dominion doesn't like him, offer to fire him to lessen the payout, and get rid of him and future "problems" he causes too.

IMHO if fox news had any balls at all, they wouldn't have settled. Carlson spoke nothing but the truth, and it's a truth that a lot of people are still denying. It needs to be heard, and a lawsuit settled in their favor would be huge publicity, and probably role back the acceptance of electronic voting, at least a little bit. Which is of course why they'd never allow that in a million years.

It could also be that the lawsuit was just an excuse to fire him in the first place. Theater, you know?

  2. I wasn't a big Carlson fan but I don't like him being fired. Fox has become a shit show in the last few years. Anyone have suggestions of a news channel to watch other than Fox? I don't want far right. However, the left has nothing I want to hear. A middle of the road with conservative or American values? I was looking at OANN.

    1. Turn the fuggin tube off!!!!
Go outside, spend some time talking to people, take up fishing or hiking, or anything but sitting your fat ass on the couch and wasting away in front of a talking head telling you how to act and think!
Jesus, are we all so fucking lost that we can't imagine a life without the vidiot box incessantly chattering in the background?

    3. They're ALL controlled opposition. OANN seems to be the least controlled.

    4. Anonymous, I have not owned a tv in thirty years. As said, I am not a big Carlson fan because I do not ever listen to talking heads. My time is mostly spent outdoors like from daylight til close. Yes I take breaks as I'm doing right now. Then in the evening I read. In the morning I like to, read, the news on the computer with a cuppa Joe. I can't imagine going though life assuming what someone else is doing with their lives with so little information.

  3. I agree with the previous comment plus, they will pay Tucker for the next three years while they hold him to his contract. I suspect he will be on a short leash. For them, it will be money well spent. Now if Tucker walks from his contract….. he will cease to be weak green tea.

  4. Not sure where I read this, but Blackrock owns millions of shares of both Fox and Dominion.

  5. There are reports that Tucker Carlson was not "fired"...merely that his program was removed from the air. He is reportedly still under contract and as such is not legally allowed to do any other media work as long as he is still contracted and will continue to be under contract till after the 2024 elections. This would be a way for Fox News to shut him up. He'd have to go to court and win release from his contract in order to continue working as a reporter in any official capacity.

  6. Tucker has much respect over here in England too, we too like the truth, warts and all.

My own feelings are that Tucker's speech at the Heritage Foundation literally only 2 days before his removal was the final straw for those pulling the strings, that speech is deep and he calls them for what they are, evil, if you haven't already watched it i recommend doing so.
All over the western world they've been busy silencing and removing those in the media telling the unplesant truth, Mark Steyn removed from GB news, we've also just had one Andrew Bridgen MP, a decent man, expelled from the tory (fake conservative) party, he told the truth in the house of commons about the vaccine damages, as he spoke all but less than a handful of MPs walked out, they don't want the truth to be heard.
The rot is deep in the west, this will not end well.
