Victims, families in FedEx mass shooting file lawsuit against gun distributor
Victims and families of victims of the April 2021 mass shooting at an Indianapolis FedEx facility have filed a lawsuit against the gun distributor and magazine manufacturers of the weapon used in the attack that killed eight and injured five others.
By plaintiff's logic, I guess manufacturers of trucks, fast cars, steak knives, cast iron skillets, just about every manufacturer should screen for mental health and criminal background before selling to potential customers.
Notice, no direct mention of, only an allusion to shooter's criminal or mental condition.
It will be interesting to see how this plays vis a vis SCOTUS decision on magazine capacity. Of course, this is yet another attack on the Act passed by Congress to prevent gun makers - a wholly legal enterprise - from being held liable because some whackadoodle cousin of D. Hogg went bananas.
this is the new version of the hoodrat lottery ! or as we used to call it the MVA lottery. honest to god. one clown came in and he was in 6 different car "wreck/events" inside of 4 months. and when asked for a work phone number ? he reply was job ? I ain't got no job ! are you nuts ? when the daily work list had more MVA and letters of protection on it than blue cross ones, I knew it was time to find another job somewhere else. funny part was when I left there I took a 2 buck a hour pay cut and they thought I was nuts but in 10 months the company was tits up and they closed over 2/3 of the imaging centers they had in the tri state area. the same ones who thought I was nuts where asking me if there where any job open where I was.
Anyone ever harmed by a drunk driver should be suing the alcohol companies, distributors, bars, bartenders, car manufacturer, car dealers, oil companies, gas stations, clerks, credit card companies, etc. Hell, why stop there? Let's sue the farmers who grew the grain that became the alcohol!
"American Tactical -- the alleged exclusive gun distributor of the high-capacity magazine used in the shooting -- its president, its marketing director and magazine manufacturer Schmeisser GmbH"
Two bits says Schmeisser pushes for an out-of-court settlement.
Then again, the Dems will oppose a settlement, because they want to challenge the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Firearms Act. Every time there's a Democrat in the White House... And remember what tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of.
And let us not forget what happened on 19 April 1775. And why it all happened that day. Hint - it wasn't just about taxes. Firearms confiscation was on the menu that day. Please research and read some history. Some things never change. And BTW - I don't believe the all of the American people are pussies like some claim.
"Despite knowing that mass killers are attracted to HCMs to carry out mass shootings, American Tactical, Inc. deliberately marketed and sold the 60-round magazine used in the attack"
Should be easy to point out out of the thousands sold, the small percent ever used in a crime. Sort of like trying to sue the maker of the WRX when someone is killed in a street race by claiming the maker of the WRX deliberately markets and sells that car.
They are not suing the oil companies that make transport and therefore companies like FEDEX possible? Strange.
ReplyDeletewhy dont they sue the manufacturer of the Fedex truck?
DeleteIn a sane world, only the person/people directly responsible would face consequences. But, alas, that world is long gone.
DeleteBecause this is all emotion-based. Its Rule of Man, not Rule of Law.
DeleteThey should be suing FedEx for creating an unsafe working environment.
ReplyDeleteWere the lights on? How about suing the power companies also.....
ReplyDeleteFuck Joe Biden!

Why not sue Ford if you are hit by a drunk driver behind the wheel of a Mustang? Or sue the maker of the liquor?
