Early pandemic lockdowns, endless hours on his laptop and heightened stress led Murillo, 27, to reach for cookies and chips in the barracks at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Gyms were closed, organized exercise was out and Murillo’s motivation to work out on his own was low.
Looks like Sarge forgot the daily dozen routine.
ReplyDeleteSgt. Bagodougnuts forgot a lot of routines it appears. They'll give him a waiver, especially if he\she\it identifies as LGBTQLMNOP.....
DeleteAs a retired military sailor, I read this article and though the same thing! Believe me! When you're deployed at sea you can't go anywhere either! And yet, there we were every evening, working out on the Universal gym, the Schwinn Airdyne nowhere bike, and the rowing machine, along with whatever other working out we could do on a 400ft, pitching, rolling ship!
ReplyDeleteFolks, military readiness doesn't stop just because there are germs in the air... At least it didn't when ships were of wood and MEN were of steel... I guess todays' military puts a higher priority on WOKING OUT than WORKING OUT...
I even did PT when I was home on leave so it wouldn't kick my ass when I returned back to my unit a month and a half later.
DeleteI skimmed through the article and saw no mention of his MOS. I'm betting that they hope that since they mentioned Ft Bragg that readers would assume that our 5'5" 200 pound lardass is a paratrooper, when in all likelihood he's a pogue
ReplyDeleteThey were a really great band.
DeleteMaybe he should aply to the Rangers version of Meal Team Six?
ReplyDeleteI'll give some of them credit and say, they were stuck in diversity training.
ReplyDeleteI used to run 3 miles one day with a half hour lifting weights and 6 miles running only the next day when I was in. I ran 6 days a week. I was also 5 to 10 pounds over my max weight but I had a body fat of 11-13 percent so I got waivers. I was a fair weather runner and I thought I was in good shape. When it rained I would just push weights and too much of that just made me bigger. It rained for 10 days strait and I had not had a running workout so I went to the gym and ran the steps. Totally different type of workout and I was so sore the next day it hurt to walk. I changed my workout to a 4 mile run and gym stairs the next day.
ReplyDeleteafter I got out I used to run the steps at work instead of taking the lift. 5 flights.
ReplyDeleteafter a while I used to be able to do it in a little over a minute if I pushed myself.
never did much weight work myself. always had work to lift and do anyway.
did do pushup and pull up though for years until my back went out.
now, if I make it walking thru the damn store I am doing good.
this old age shit sucks
