Your Monday Morning Florida Report

SPRING HILL, Fla. - A judge granted a risk protection order in the case of a Hernando County teacher who the school district said made "concerning" comments.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said deputies confiscated guns from her home. While the school district said Tuesday night there was no imminent threat, parents said they're furious she hasn't been fired.

  1. '... people making fun of my sexual orientation ...'

    I call that a clue.

  2. I do not fault the teacher since she is obviously mentally ill. I do blame those with the power to remove her and yet do not. They are the ones that should be responsible for any harm that may be done to the children. I cannot believe she was allowed back into the classroom! It's a good thing they took her guns away because now it's impossible for her to get another one or any other weapon that could harm someone /s/.

    1. "Impossible for her to get a gun"? Are you serious? It's likely impossible to get Schedule 1 drugs in Spring Hill, either.

  4. This will, I'm sure, be trumpeted as a successful use of ERPOs (red flag law).

  6. His employment was terminated Thursday April 13.

The delay was because it had to be first approved by the Public Health Coordinator. He was in that position at the time. Yes, that's right, he was allowed to determine his own fitness as teacher.

This is yet another example of how an administrative system shields an individual from culpability or even held accountable for malfeasance.
Its why we read such things as an embezzler getting away with it for years or decades.
