Burning Down Barriers: Female Firefighter Conference Causes 'Out of Control' Forest Fire

What happened: Female firefighters taking part in a Women-in-Fire Training Exchange program—intended to promote "mental health and gender diversity and inclusion"—accidentally caused an "out of control" forest fire in Banff National Park.

Residents in the surrounding areas were evacuated and several buildings were damaged on May 3 after the female firefighters initiated a prescribed burn that quickly escalated into an uncontrolled blaze.

  1. Next time the Affirmative Action/Diversity hires should leave the professional work to the pros.

  2. So did they call in men to put their fire out. Then bitch that they could have done but the men got in their way or had better equipment. If I'm ever in a burning building trapped with a two hundred lb beam on my leg with seconds to spare, I hope and pray a male firefighter shows up. I know a female would have tried but no way would she have saved me. Just send a man in the first place. It's not a put down, it's just the way it is.

  3. I have no fucks left to give, but it’s kind of fun watching them destroy everything good in civil society on their path to diversity inclusion and equity. DIE. Seems appropriate! Eod1sg Ret

A few years ago, somebody leaked video of women at the Philadelphia Fire Dept. training center. They were trying to hoist a ladder up against a wall. It was like a Three Stooges movie.

  6. A prescribed burn conducted by a bunch of social justice warriors who are out to prove the value of diversity and inclusion. What could possibly go wrong?
Hold their IPAs and they'll show you.

BTW, did you ever notice that back in the good old days, 'prescribed fires' were known as 'controlled burns'?
That was back when half of them went out of control, hence the name change.

  7. I recall as a member of a Cal Helitack crew out of Bieber working a control burn near Burney, CA about 83 or 84. It was a thing of beauty watching alumajel (napalm by any other name) fall from the barrel over areas outside the control burn as a result of the valve being non responsive. We were told not to walk alone but in groups of three in town as we fought to contain the damaging blaze. Good times. Even men can be idiots, all day. GI-had Joe

    1. You may recall a controlled burn east of Redding several years back that... wait for it... went out of control in a high wind, torched several thousand acres, burned 11 homes to the ground and if I remember right severely injured a resident. But take heart, that was the arsonists at the Forest Service that caused that one, not CDF.

  9. Jane Park, the female "fire management specialist" who helped organize the conference, described the group of women who accidentally started the forest fire as the "cream of the crop."
Which means they'll do it again, only harder, to prove the first time was a fluke.

    1. Yeah. I liked that "cream of the crop" crap.

Jane Park is dangerous to public safety and the health of the forests in general. The problem is that it's women just like her that are currently running the U.S. Forest Service, whose motto should be changed from "Caring for the Land and Serving People" to "Completely Dysfunctional Since 1976".

Sometimes I think it was a mistake to teach women to TALK!

  12. My wife and I work very well together because we have the brains/brawn ratio figured out pretty well after 50 years. I've seen these strong wahmen before in my manufacturing plant. Our two 50 y/o Sikhs outworked them all day, all week without even breaking a sweat.

  13. "Context: Banff National Park is in Canada, where South American migrants have been fleeing to escape the lawless squalor of America's big cities."
    Banff FFS? We fucked, boys.

    1. Canadians have to pay to visit the park, can not live there except under exceptionally controlled conditions and are restricted to where they can go. But illegals can just squat anywhere. Pre-covid it was ok but now its gotten sketchy to be out after dark..

  14. Women doing this or not, this is what happens when you have the entire group having no real experience or first-hand knowledge, led by someone with the same or less knowledge, and everyone chosen because of political correctness, not by actual qualifications or skills.

  15. Not actually funny when you realize that they did this during a fire ban and extreme fire danger alert. We have 100 fires burning now and 60%+ seem to be arson. 24000 people fled from hones, fire turned less than 5km from my work. Yet ever obe of the fire bugs caught claims they did it to sway our upconing provincial election (may 28th). So environazis burning the province down to scare people into voting left . The feds starting the banff fire. Feeling like we are at warm with terrorists.

  16. Why am I laughing so hard? Can anyone else hear the girltalk in the wind? The embers flying weren't nearly as disastrous as a nail breaking! If you listen hard you can hear the echo of them hyping up each other that they are just as strong, just as capable as the male firefighters, you just have to tune out the roaring whoosh of the fire. I must be in the midst of wrongthink again, sorry ladies.

  17. It was a woman who was a former forest service employee burning a letter from her ex husband started the largest forest fire in Colorado, the Hayman Fire. https://www.koaa.com/news/2018/08/15/sentence-extended-for-woman-who-started-hayman-fire/

  18. I'm female, but just had to laugh at the sheer idiocy of these"wimmen". I work construction, do lots of push-ups to keep a certain level of upper body strength, but sure recognize that I'm just not as strong as the average man. That's physiology. Finally, having had male relatives in New York City's fire department, and seen their standards decline due to " diversity", I have to agree with the disgusted male posters here: some women are just crazy!
